LSP text analysis
Conduct LSP text analysis:
1) choose a specialised text (see the section on LSP in your lectures)
2) study your text and identify its structural, semantic and pragmatic features based on the following guidelines:
- Specialized Vocabulary and Structures (find them and describe)
- Purpose-Driven Communication (identify this purpose, link it to the linguistic peculiarities described: vocabulary and structures)
- Audience and Context Awareness (describe these factors and link them to the purpose identified)
- Pragmatic and Functional Approach (identify pragmatic fuctions of the text)
- Interdisciplinary Nature (identify the fields)
- Cultural and Contextual Sensitivity (describe culturally determined features of the text, if any)
- Dynamic and Evolving (if any, describe diachronically relevant elements of the text, such as neologisms, new terminology, archaisms, historically related elements)
